Eric Ruppel Soldiers on at Bark River
-
-
After an
expensive weekend in Crandon, Eric Ruppel and his Loose Cannon CORR
Sportsman Stock race team headed to Bark River without all their
horses. After breaking a connecting rod during the last round of
racing in Crandon, the team decided to drop in a true street stock
engine so they wouldn’t miss the action in the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan.
-
-
“ We didn’t have
the time or the funds to build a new engine, so we are doing what we
can to get whatever points a solid finish can bring,” commented Eric
Ruppel.

-
Saturday – Round 5
-
Ten trucks took
the green flag and Eric and his #837 Chetek Off-Road, Art Carr
Transmission, Phil’s Inc. AMSOIL BFGoodrich Tire Ford-F150 headed
into Turn One looking to finish the race on the lead lap. The race
was uneventful, as Eric methodically passed a few of his competitors
and came home on the lead lap, in 5th place at the
finish.

Sunday – Round 6
-
Eric was looking
for a repeat performance of Saturday’s race. Again Eric stayed clear
of any trouble entering Turn One, and took off with the same game
plan. Again Eric stayed on the lead lap and finished in 6th
place.

-
“When we came to
the track, everybody didn’t believe that I just dropped an engine in
from a truck off the street. Heck, after Saturday the motor burned
up three quarts of oil in each 15-minute race. Running AMSOIL
products in the engine saved us from losing this engine. Now we have
some time to get our new motor put together before we come back here
for round 7 & 8, “ – Eric Ruppel.
-
-
Currently Eric
Ruppel is in 6th place in the 2006 CORR Sportsman Stock
Championship.
